[Filter: all personnel] I don't like the sound of this.
So I've never actually witnessed an exorcism. Of course I still believe that possessions happen, and I've probably seen more ghosts and demons than the people who green-lit this church, so sometimes these steps are necessary. But the majority of so-called "possessions" can be cured by simple psychiatric practice. Devoting an entire church to the act of driving out evil spirits seems a little on the extreme side. I know they're just trying to be precautionary, but I can't imagine this is necessary there and not anywhere else.
I have a feeling we're going to be sent to Mexico a lot more often now. [/Filter]

[Filter: all personnel] I spent all of today in Jersey, looking for a plesiosaur. Let me tell you something, as unpleasant as New Jersey is in the summer, in the early fall it's even worse. Wind off the ocean is freezing, and little rafts filled to maximum capacity with tired, hungry agents (one of whom couldn't swim. Couldn't swim! Somebody find Sheffield and teach him to swim before someone else has to sit in a little boat with him for five hours) does not make for a pleasant afternoon.
Needless to say, we did not find a plesiosaur. I did get a soft pretzel though, as well as a ticket for smoking on the beach. Well, he tried to hand me a ticket, anyway; I'd forgotten how easy it was to flash a badge and be left alone.
I'm going back next week to follow up on it, when at least it should be sunny. We'll see how long that lasts though; my luck seems to be really bad this time of year. [/Filter]
I had a dream last night about Tom Waits. You know that painting, "Nighthawks"? It was Tom and me at the counter. I can't remember what he ordered, but I had a chocolate phosphate, which I found weird because those things taste like chalk. Anyway, we were discussing getting older, and he said to me, "Age merely shows what children we remain." It might be impossible for anybody to entirely and fully grow out of the pettiness and selfishness of childhood. All we can do is really try.

[Filter: all personnel] The moon's special this month, apparently. Any ideas if LCROSS is going to affect things on our end? I'm not counting on Martians coming down or anything, but could this affect our moon-loving friends in any way? [/Filter]

[Filter: all personnel] The claims of possession in Marblehead were very elaborate hoaxes. Apparently a grad student needed some kind of evidence for her thesis paper. However, the levitation was real, just not caused by anything supernatural; one of the students' cohorts in the hoax turned out to have telekinesis. I have forwarded her information to Records so we can keep an eye on her. [/Filter]
I know I was in Massachusetts for two days, but was it necessary to eat the entire bag of bagels I left in the freezer? I'm going to start putting up surveillance cameras in B4 soon; this is getting ridiculous.
